Grid and Matrix
This project brief was to develop a grid system based on a logic, and then develop that into a 3 dimensional matrix that would be able to accommodate the program of a post production studio on a site in downtown Los Angeles. Based on the case study of Toyo Ito’s emerging grid system at the Tama Arts Library, I developed a system of spheres, trimmed by the site constraints, that allowed for a diverse range of space for the production studio. These spaces were then populated and adjusted to meet the programatic requirements of the studio.
