Apprentice: Parle REsidence

After graduating from Vassar College in 2013, while applying for graduate programs, I worked as a carpenter’s apprentice with Buckminster Design Build. During this year I worked full time with Buck Parle to build his family home from the ground up. As a long time general contractor, Buck was determined to build his dream home as much as possible with his own hands. For the majority of the year the work was completed by Buck, myself, and one additional crew member. I was involved with all aspects of construction from initial excavation through roofing, framing plumbing, and finish work. Since 2014 I’ve worked intermittently with Buck on a number of other additional, smaller projects.
